A small editorial team writing plain-language guides about personal injury law in the United States and publishing rankings of injury firms in 40 cities. Our reference points are published statutes, appellate opinions, state bar guidance and long-standing legal treatises. The rankings follow one published formula.

What we are not

How we handle bias

Personal injury information online is dominated by law firms competing for clients. That shapes what gets written and how. We try to counter that by answering the question a reader would ask a knowledgeable friend, noting where the law varies by state, and pointing out where different lawyers would reasonably disagree.
